Laboratory services
The laboratory performs routine transmission electron microscopy study. In addition, we perform all electron microscopy specimen preparation techniques including cryofixation, freez substitution, high pressure freezing, and immunogold labeling. We have specialized in the cryo-electron microscopy investigations.

Digital holographic microscopy is a type of microscopy that combines digital holography with microscopy to allow transparent cells to be visualized with classic cell culture plates. Digital holographic microscopy is distinct from other types of microscopy because it does not recreate a projected image of the specimen but instead produces a digital hologram from the light waves that have passed by the specimen. A numerical reconstruction algorithm in a computer is used to create the hologram. In traditional microscopy, an imaging forming lens is used to create the image sample.
Nanolive's technology is the unique solution to offer 3D label-free live cell imaging. The extremely low light power that generates the holograms allows for a total absence of phototoxicity which leads to excellent time resolution. Due to this technology we are capable of exploring living cellular processes with real-time kinetics. Therefore, without the need for cell fixation and staining, we are able to obtain native information on single cell characteristics such as mitochondrial and cellular metabolism, cell-cell and cell-material interactions and cytotoxicity.
